HEAVY IS THE HEAD
final major project.
In this project, I dedicated my time and effort to better understand african hair and why our relationship with it is so kinky. To do this, I decided to become a hair hermit and hog as much as I can to create a sculpture. Using foil and styrofoam as a base for the hair to lay on made me process different techniques in order to reach the effect I was looking for.
Wonderland has always resonated with me deeply and so the irony and challenge of making what I love the most out of the thing I have the most difficult relationship intruiged me. Thus, a wonderland made entirely of hair.
